Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduating from dental school.
